This is a charming, small family winery perched on the hillsides of Silverado just north of Darioush. They produce well-made wines from estate vineyards. They make a Sauvignon Blanc, Semillon blend, because their winemaker, Pierre Birebent is French and that’s the traditional blend.
Pierre is rare in Napa because he’s both the vineyard manager and winemaker, and all of their grapes come from within walking distance from the winery. So he guides the grapes from the fields into the bottles. Wines: Cabernet Sauvignon, Zinfandel, Pinot Noir, Syrah Seta: is a Sauvignon-Semillon Blend.
Their tasting fees, like many in Napa have gone up in 2010, but with it the quality of the wines and the hospitality. They offer both a basic and reserve tasting. On the weekend they do a wonderful wine and food pairing that is more expensive but well worth it. If you would like a tour for a small group call ahead. They have really kicked things up a notch or two. AWG Rating 90
Note: If you get there for 10 am but the gate is not open then push the button and they'll let you in, the staff is probably just busy cleaning or making wine.
