The Top of the Sonoma Valley
The tasting room is a dramatic Spanish style visitor’s center that was designed to take advantage of the wonderful views of their vineyards and the mountains in the distance. You can see the separate winery building tucked against the mountains at the back of the property.
The traffic light at the intersection of Highway 12 and Pythian Road makes it a great ‘northern limit’ for a Sonoma Valley tour on a busy day. Whenever you can make it easy and safe to turn around, you should take advantage of that. Keep in mind that this is wine country, where people taste wine and then drive. Think defensively!
The tasting room is spacious, with a long tasting bar and a nice gift area. The staff is pleasant and there are lovely patios and grounds, including covered areas to sit and chat. They make some seriously good wines and also do wonderful food pairings.
