This is a completely authentic Sonoma winery, with the tanks just on the other side of the wall from the tasting bar. The winemaker/owner David Homewood, is often on hand to chat about the wines, which are very good.
In the warmer weather, the tastings are done outside on the picnic tables. One warning: With its great small-winery ambience and because this is located so conveniently to San Francisco, it is popular with small tour buses of 10 to 20 passengers. When you arrive, there may be a crowd so have a back up plan.
Although the winery is located in the Los Carneros district, David buys his grapes from various sources, including Napa so he can pick and choose the best. They are located just off of Highways 121/12.
